Sit and drink a coffee (or tea, or espresso, or latte, or cappuccino, or hot orange chocolate, or…) and have a bite to eat, check out the work of local artists and craftspeople, experience a themed evening or a cookery day, listen to some music, have a birthday party, and create your own masterpieces.
Opening Hours
BEANS is currently open:
Thursday to Saturday, 10.00am to 5.00pm
Sunday is reserved for art classes, but we might open on non-art class Sundays after we get going. It’s a bit of a wait and see. After we find out when people visit and what works best, our opening and closing times may change. But, we’ll let you know.
Where is BEANS?
We’re just off Junction 29a of the M1 in Bolsover and down the hill from Bolsover Castle. There are 4 car parks, with free parking, all within easy walking distance of our shop. More Than Just a Coffee Shop
BEANS does offer a nice selection of great coffees and teas, and we make all of our soups, salads, sandwiches and cakes on the premises. However, we are quickly becoming known for our art classes, which are taught by very talented local artists. You can learn how to make your own silver rings, try your hand at Batik fabric decoration, use silk screen printing techniques to make a T-shirt or bag, create a stained glass masterpiece, and use a linocut to print your own personal greeting cards. Our artists also teach courses on how to make a proddy rug, a felt picture, earrings, pendants, mosaic mirrors, Christmas cards, mobiles, and various ceramic designs.
We also display and sell jewellery, prints, cards, stained glass, paintings, ceramics, collage & stitchery works, and fused glass by local artists. And our display keeps growing!
Cookery Days, Evening Events, Art & Craft Parties
Watch, make, smell and taste when you join us for a day of bread making – or a day of vegetarian feast making – or both. Enjoy dinner, followed by music or a guest speaker, or a themed evening like Thanksgiving. Let us help you plan your birthday parties or a party of friends in our upstairs gathering space – we can offer activities plus a choice of light refreshments or party food.
